Glynis Woodhead - Wedding Celebrant

As an English graduate and writer, I worked in senior roles in education for 17 years, most recently as a Headteacher, so I’m a highly confident organiser and public speaker.  In some of the spare time I have, I’ve enjoyed volunteering in organisations as diverse as the prison service, the Durrell Wildlife Trust, and the Samaritans; I love writing fiction; I adore travelling and have been all over the world - one of the most special countries of all, of course, is Scotland, and there are so many beautiful places here to experience.  Most of all, though, I love spending time with my family and our gorgeous four legged friend, Nelson.

The question I'm most often asked is why I chose to become a celebrant, and the answer to that is really easy.  I didn't know such a thing existed until I moved to New Zealand in 2010 and what I saw there was a real eye-opener.  Celebrants in the UK are much more common nowadays as people realise that celebrations need to keep the individuals concerned at the very heart of them.  So, when I came back from New Zealand six years later, I retrained as a celebrant and here I am with the number of ceremonies I've conducted now well into four figures.

I conduct weddings throughout Scotland, mainly in the Central belt and the Highlands - so whether you're getting married in one of our major cities, in the middle of the countryside, or in a Scottish castle somewhere, I'm happy to travel wherever you need me to be for your occasion.  If I can help you in any way, please get in touch with me and we’ll discuss how, together, we can make your most important moment really special.
